Guinea Bissau West Africa / Personal & equipment evacuation project

Larsen Oil & Gas (LOG) is a global energy organisation with operations worldwide in Oil & Gas exploration, and mining. The organisation also owns and controls a large number of other oil exploration companies’ oil rigs, drill and support vessels and provides support services provided by energy service companies also under the LOG umbrella.

SSDS Management was asked to develop, plan and evacuate personal & High Value mining equipment from Guinea Bissau West Africa due to the security situation deterioration after a Military overthrow (coup d'état). Through Liaising with Government ministers, Military chiefs both in Guinea Bissau and Senegal and Police commanders along with employed local nationals we managed to evacuate out of country all personnel and 100% of the mining equipment. This equipment was then through two individual journeys transited through four countries and relocated in Ghana West Africa successfully.

Larsen Oil & Gas (LOG) is a global energy organisation with operations worldwide in Oil & Gas exploration, and mining.

After the Military overthrow (coup d'état) in Guinea Bissau the international community condemned the countries actions, within months a new Government was formed and Prime Minster appointed. LOG invited a number of Government ministers and advisors to Dubai for discussions on their previous joint onshore and off shore agreements and contracts. SSDS Management was tasked to liaise and organise this event with the Guinea Bissau Ministers. We advised the GB ministers on a jointly approved schedule, provided 24 hour protection during the period spent in the UAE and escorted them. Successfully completed.

Ghana West Africa Oilfield Base: Security & Operational Risk assessment and System Implementation:

Certified Oilfield Rentals (COR) is a Global onshore/offshore rig and Oilfield equipment provider and Maintenance Company with a global footprint in South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Due to recent oil find in Ghana and increased activity relating to the oil find, SSDS Management was tasked to complete full country profiling and operational base security & Safety assessments with recommendations. A complete base security and safety policy was designed and procedures set in place. A local Guard force was trained and implemented successfully along with Electronic security measures & HSE Systems successfully.

Certified Oilfield Rentals (COR) is a Global onshore & offshore rig and Oilfield equipment provider and Maintenance Company with a global footprint in South America, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

COR established two new operational bases in South America, one in Ecuador and the other in Brazil, SSDS Management was tasked to provide full country profiling to include logistic issues for equipment transiting, Infrastructure obstacles, political and security stability and full Base security & HSE implementation of policy & procedures, successfully completed.

Yemen Middle East: Security & Operational Risk assessment and System Implementation:

Dove Energy is an Oil & Gas exploration and drilling company with a global footprint.

Yemen’s slow deterioration and political instability was a major concern to Dove Energy’s significant operation in Yemen. SSDS Management was tasked to visit the operational head quarters in Sana Yemen and complete a full operational base security and safety risk assessment with physical & electronic enhancement recommendations, successfully completed.

Iraq Middle East: Security project providing advisory and security services into Southern Iraq:

Advanced Oilfield Specialists (AOS) is an onshore & offshore rig and Oilfield equipment provided Company with a footprint in the Middle East, Far East & Australia.

SSDS management has over five years operational experience in Iraq covering the whole country, AOS was involved in the tendering process for multiple opportunities within the southern oil field projects and held meetings in and around Basra Iraq. SSDS Management was tasked by AOS to provide logistical support in the way of advisory and security services to AOS Directors travelling to Iraq, protection and operational base & transportation assessments whilst in country and exiting the country. Provide complete operational and logistical plans if tendering was successful. Successfully completed.

Tunisia North Africa: Complete logistical, HSE and Security support to Gas drilling operation.

Larsen Oil & Gas (LOG) is a global energy organisation with operations worldwide in Oil & Gas expiration, and mining.

Tunisia deterioration and political instability has been a major concern to LOG in the capital Tunis and the Gas drilling site, SSDS Management was tasked to visit the country head quarters in Tunis and the operational drilling site and complete a full country profile and operational base security and safety risk assessment. Plan and prepare Medical and Security evacuation procedures and a full operational Emergency Response Plan (ERP) with HSE enhancements and security recommendations for the drill site and for LOG and the Tunis government partner to jointly operate under. Successfully completed.

Abu Dhabi UAE: Royal Yacht Project 1

SSDS Risk Management based in the UAE is honoured to announce the company has been awarded the Abu Dhabi Royal yacht Maritime project, SSDS Risk management provided an unparalleled service to our client and owner of the Royal Yacht Moonlight 2. The SSDS Maritime team completed a full assessment of the vessel and a full set of SOP’s, intervention plans along with contingency plans were drawn up and implemented by the team.

The Royal yacht and full crew was escorted from the Mediterranean through the Suez's cannel passing Yemen & Somalia and returned to Abu Dhabi safely.

Conflict Zone: Media correspondent protection / March-April 2012

Mali is a West African country and the 3rd largest gold exporter from Africa, split in two by a current and hostile coup d’état escalating out of control by the countries military forces and Toureg rebel / insurgent forces located in the north. The AU and ECOWAS are desperately trying to resolve this increasingly violent coup d’état and restore the country back to its former peaceful state.

During the beginning of the coup d’état SSDS Risk Management was tasked by a global media organization to organize the travel, visa entry for their personnel and provide full protection to their war correspondents while operating and filming in country the events leading up to and during the coup d’état in Mali.

SSDS deployed three media security teams directly to Senegal to organize entry into Mail and arrange visas for the incoming correspondents, on arrival SSDS sent a forward advance team into Bamako Mali and arrange their accommodation, vehicles and POC’s. When all the correspondents received their visas SSDS personnel escorted the correspondents to Bamako and provided full close protection to three media teams reporting on the escalating situation from the Military/ civilian and Toureg point of view. The whole operation was successfully planned and carried out without incident.

SSDS was tasked by the media organization and provided full close protection and intelligence for the Mali project for a period of 5 weeks.

Conflict zone Afghanistan: Telecommunication Company Risk & Crisis Management / June 2012

Afghanistan is a country at war and with no end in sight, the Capital Kabul continues to be a key terrorist target during this year due to top government meetings and international conferences, although violence occurs daily in many parts of the country. Kabul residents say they have little faith in the ability of the Afghan & international security services to protect them after dramatic attacks hit the city over the last weeks.

Due to increased insurgent activity and the heightened threat level in Afghanistan SSDS Risk Management has been tasked by a global telecommunication company assisting to rebuild Afghanistan telecommunication infrastructure with providing Risk & Crisis Management to there operations In and around Kabul. The Afghan project is initially a six month project with an option to extend as the operation continues, SSDS Risk Management has been tasked to provide feasibility reports, asses each operational location and build independent evacuation policies and procedures, provide daily intelligence and protection to its personnel in country.

Afghanistan is still a country at war with a uncertain future when ISAF forces leave by the end of 2014, As we have all witnessed in recent months the Capital Kabul continues to be a key terrorist target during this year alone multiple kidnappings, bombings and attacks in general, although violence occurs daily in many parts of the country. Kabul residents say they have no faith in the ability of the Afghan security services to protect them after ISAF force leave Afghanistan and the security situation is going to escalate out of control.

Yemen Middle East: Travel & personal protection Yemen November 2013:

Yemen has seen a vast increase in instability in recent months and as political and social unrest increases so do the attacks on government forces, police, international energy companies and even foreign embassy personnel as we have recently witnessed with the attack on the Japanese ambassador. Yemen’s serious political situation has caused an upsurge in security that has dominated the news for months now all foreign personnel travelling to and from Yemen and operating in country requires security.

SSDS Risk Management was recently tasked by a UAE based energy company to provide travel intelligence, advice and personal protection to a delegation that traveled to Yemen recently.

SSDS Risk Management based in the UAE is pleased to announce the completion of the 7th Royal Yacht (Moonlight ll) transit from the Abu Dhabi to the Mediterranean. SSDS was again tasked by our client to provide due diligence and maritime security services to the Royal Yacht Moonlight ll. SSDS Maritime specialists provided an unparalleled service in asset and personnel protection and escorted the vessel from Abu Dhabi to the Mediterranean without indecent. During this transit and in a safe location SSDS divers were deployed to carry out Hull & prop inspections and cleaning services to the vessel, all activities were carried out successfully and without issue.
